Erik Huey

President of Platinum Advisors DC, Erik Huey is a senior entertainment, tech, and media industry government and public affairs executive with over twenty-five years of experience. He has been repeatedly listed on The Hill’s Top Lobbyists in DC, Hollywood Reporter’s Top 100 Entertainment Lawyers, and Top 100 Irish American Attorney in the US.

Prior to joining Platinum Advisors, Erik was the Senior Vice President of Government Affairs at ESA, where he oversaw the entire federal and state advocacy apparatus for the US video game industry. He regularly briefed industry CEOs and top executives, and oversaw an internal team and a roster of 50 consulting firms. At ESA, he led successive victorious industry campaigns in response to media violence challenges, and coordinated the industry’s IP protection, privacy, cybersecurity, and tax policy efforts.

Prior to his work in the video game industry, Erik was a partner at the Kilpatrick Townsend law firm, and is a veteran of both the Venable and Manatt law firms as well.

Politically, he’s a prolific fundraiser and has guided voter mobilization and voter protection efforts in the DNC legal boiler room on a range of campaigns, including Biden-Harris 2020, Obama for America, Kerry 2004, and Clinton-Gore.

He has authored four screenplay and is producing a cable television series. He has released three full-length albums of original music, two with his Americana rock band The Surreal McCoys, and one as a solo artist with his 2023 critically acclaimed solo debut, “Appalachian Gothic,” which enjoyed airplay on radio stations nationwide and Sirius-XM’s Outlaw Country.

A native of Western Pennsylvania and West Virginia, he graduated from both Notre Dame Law School and the University of Miami. He lives with his three daughters in Washington DC.
